Tibetan Medicine - Karmik Deseases

Karmik Deseases was a question that Geshe Rinchen Tenzin, a famous Tibetan Doctor which will come to teach us a very important medical treatise from Bon tradition, Bum Shi, answered during a conference he had in Moscow this year. I'll try to translate his answer in English now.

_________________________

It's very difficult to diagnose a desease as a karmik one. It's impossible to say it from the first sigh.

First of all, the doctor has to visit the patient. He controls his pulse, urine, his tongue, the state of the body. After it, the doctor has to ask many questions.

Deseases have different signs, little syndroms. When a doctor speaks with the person, he can understand what signs are those: deseases of Wind, Bile or Mucus.
When all the tipes of diagnosis show one picture, the doctor can say what type of the illness is it and decide what methods to apply - diet, conduct or medicines.

If all these cures are not enough for healing, it's necessary to go to an other doctor, to some other doctors to hear other opinions. If after all these things the person does not heal, it's possible to speak about karmik desease.

In this case, the person has to make practices of own religion. For those who does not believe in god, it's necessary do good things. For example, to help an orpganage or something like this.

The First Course of Tibetan Medicine of Bon Tradition and it's Text Bum Shi

Do you remember my old good blog Lazy Yogi? Well, Google does not allow me to turn back to my original URL so I had to cancel all the blog and turn back with this new one. Hope, you will like it, my dear friends.

I even can announce you a very important event - for me and, I hope, for somebody of you, too: in October, 20-24, 2015, precisely, we will begin a very real and very precious course of Tibetan Medicine of Bon Tradition with the text Bum Shi (‘bum bzhi) taught by very important and famous Tibetan Meditian Gesce Rinchen Tenzin (probably, the second ritrit will be in November, 10-15)

This is a very precious possibility and I assure you there are not many persons in this world who is able to teach this medical traktat and not so many persons who studied it.

Traktat Bum Shi (‘bum bzhi) is very important because it is aboout the descriptions of the deseases, descriptions of processes, methods of the cure and particularly about the medicines.

Normally, they need years and years to study this text. We will dedicate some years, too. Maybe 5, I can't tell about it in this moment because our doctor of tibetan medicine has to see if we have interest in this study, if we want to continue etc etc. What can I tell you - the most brave of us who will be able to pass the exams, will receive their Diploma.

Before we begin our studies, we have to do some work to be ready for this Great Adventure.

I will publish some articles in this page and will try to add some information, but I have a very great work with the translation of the videos, where Geshe La tells about the Tibetan Medicine principles, from Russian to Italian and am not able to do other translations. I'm very sorry but it's a hard work. So I ask you to use the translators and ask questions  if you have them.

So, the pages of this event are:

The Color of Your Urine Tells You...

It's very important to notice the color of the own urine to know more about your health. At the dufference of many other "alternative" diagnostics it's easy and you do not need any tools or knowledges. Everybody of us knows that the escrements can alarm us if we see them not normal. Here is an infographic to be aware of the own problems by the only look of the own urine.

Dzogchen Yungdrung Bon Ritrit in Milan July, 4-6, 2014 - Ponlob Tsangpa Tenzin Rinpoche

Khenpo Tempa Yungdrung Rinpoche: "I recommend everyone to take part on this ritrit since Ponlob Tsangpa Tenzin Rinpoche is an excellent teacher and it would be very important for you if you would have the possibility to create a connection with him"

Ponlob Tsangpa Tenzin Rinpoche
Head Teacher,
Yungdrung Bon Academy of Higher Studies
Triten Norbutse Monastery
Ponlob Tsangpa Tenzin Rinpoche is the Ponlob, the head teacher of the Yungdrung Bon Academy of Higher Studies at Triten Norbutse Monastery. A pivotal moment in Ponlob Rinpoche’s spiritual life occurred in 1986 when he met Yongdzin Lopon Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche, an eminent master of Dzogchen practice, and the foremost teacher in the Bon tradition. At that time Ponlob Rinpoche had the great opportunity to receive ordination from Yongdzin Rinpoche who is a holder of the unbroken lineage of vinaya, the monastic disciplinary code of the Bon tradition. Since that time Ponlob Rinpoche has been unremitting in his quest to master the knowledge and practices of Yungdrung Bon that have been passed on from ancient times to the present day.
His studies began under the guidance of Tengchen Lama Sherab Gelek Rinpoche from whom he learned various skills used in Bon practice, such as ritual techniques, the use of sacred instruments and liturgical chants. In the same period he received teachings, transmissions and initiations from Tengchen Khenpo Woeser Jinpa Phuntsok. His main focus in this early period was gathering accumulations through the foundation practices; when he had completed these he went on to study Dzogchen for three years. He first studied Bon philosophy with Lungkar Ponlob Drangsong Tsultrim Namdak, under whose guidance he studied the systems of Sutra, Tantra and Dzogchen in the Bon tradition. During this time he was able to expand and deepen his knowledge of the Bon teachings.
In 1992, Ponlob Rinpoche entered Menri monastery in India. For a further nine years he continued his study of Bon Sutra, Tantra, Dzogchen, and the general Tibetan sciences under the great blessings and guidance of H.H. Menri Tridzin Rinpoche, and H.E. Yongdzin Rinpoche, along with many other teachers, first in the Bon Dialectic School at Menri monastery and later at the Yungdrung Bon Academy of Higher Studies at Triten Norbutse monastery, Kathmandu, Nepal. Throughout these long years of intensive study, Ponlob Rinpoche received major initiations, transmissions and pith-instructions that are traditionally bestowed by the teacher to students with the aim of enhancing their understanding and experience of the teachings. He is widely known for his uprightness, intelligence and his keen dedication to practice. During his studies he also found time to serve the monastic community by teaching and organising the publication of Drepoi Beltam, the monastery’s annual journal.
Having successfully completed his studies, in 2001, Ponlob Rinpoche was awarded the degree of Geshe, making him one of only six Geshe that had graduated from Triten Norbutse up to that point in time. Following his graduation, he continued to study, practise and teach at Triten Norbutse. In 2004, he was appointed and enthroned as Ponlob Rinpoche of Triten Norbutse Monastery by and with the blessings of H.H. Menri Tridzin Rinpoche, H.E. Yongdzin Rinpoche and Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche, and now carries the great responsibility for maintaining high standards of monastic education and discipline. Since his appointment Ponlob Tsangpa Tenzin Rinpoche has been serving the Bon tradition, the monastery and the students through his exemplary teaching, knowledge and inspiration.

Lemon and Other Energizing Drinks

glitter-graphics.com

Is the lack of energy your problem? It's surely mine. What do you do to solve this problem? Overdose of caffee? I just can't even think about caffee. It's smell provokes cramps in my body. I began to hate it, confess...

They say, the problems are different: we need more Vit B-s, our liver and kidneys are full of all kinds of toxins and can't work normally, all our organs do not receive enough oxigen for these and other reasons...

What can help us? Natural food.
Fermented drinks like teas, kvass etc.
Honey+ royal jelly+propolis
The weight loss drink I told about in my previous post
black tea
and pure 1 lemon juice. If you prefer, you can use honey to feel better taste in your mouth after you drink it.

What do you prefer? I use all of these and those are good solutions. The only problem is they are not ultimate ones. Maybe, it's necessary think about cleansing of liever and kidneys?

My Weight Loss Battle: Recipe to Lose Appetite

This is an incredible recipe. I would never believe that something like this can completely destroy appetite. I drink it and do not want to eat more!

Ingredients are:
lemon juice, cayenne pepper, honey
mix these 3 in a glass and add good water

They say, turmeric and cayenne pepper are among the best foods for liver. So, I changed the "formula" and added turmeric, too.
Where this recipe comes from?
I had to "clean the liver": I had to drink water with salt in the morning. Than, I had to drink this juice 8 times a day. This is how I learned about this aliment.
I do not think, it's good to drink so much lemon juice a day. And to assume so much species. By the way, I felt very very bad after the "cleaning", yesterday. Really very bad. I do not think, I'll repeat it once more.
But I learned the recipe of this very delicious cocktail. It is is TASTY! Once a day it can be good, surely.
Give it a try. You will like it.

My Weight Loss Battle

Weight Loss became for me one of the most important things in the life. Some of you laugh about it but if you arrive at the point when the excessive weight of the body becomes an obstacle for many activities of your life and, as it is not enough, it is dangerous for your health, too - no, I'm not right, if you are obese, the only meaning of this is that you do not have good health more. It means, you have at least grave liver problems, right? So, I arrived at the point when the decision had to be made.

Three weeks ago, I received finally my bian stones and decided to begin with reflexotherapy. There are many sites and articles about it - you can see one of the graphics here (I don't know where is it from, my PC saved all the pics from the sites I visited that day), I've written some posts, too.

So, 3 weeks ago, I asked one of my friends, a doctor, to explain me where the acupuncture point I'm interested in are situated.

The doctor said me, I have to do only one simple thing, if I want to loose weight: I have to sew up my mouth. It's the only effective way and there is nothing to do: I have to eat less and have to count calories I assume during all my meals.

You will not believe me, but I began this "therapy". And here I want to tell about my way and my progresses. This is the first part. And I'll continue till I'll win this battle. I'll even begin a new category in this blog "My Weight Loss Battle" so that all the posts about it are "visible" in one click.

From the first day, I began to write what I eat and how much calories are those meals. It's not so difficult, as I could imagine: there are special sites where it's enough to enter your parameters to have the numbers you are looking for.

Here is what we need to begin:

1 - how much calories have we to eat to maintain our weight or to lower it. One of this is http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm
For example, this site gives me these result:
1668
CALORIES/DAY
1373
CALORIES/DAY

One thing you have to understand: every site gives you an other number. Here is the other "offer"
You should consume about 1,655 calories a day to reach your goal weight of 65 kg . This is at a reasonable weight loss average of 0.46 kg per week, which should be reached by January 22, 2014.

Experts recommend weight loss at the rate of 0.25-1 kg/week. Remember that this estimate is based on your body weight, height, age, gender, and activity level. It may vary slightly depending on other factors.

Generally, women should not consume any less than 1,200 calories per day, and men should not consume less than 1,500 calories per day.
This is from this site: http://caloriecount.about.com/tools/calories-goal

My personal results were very surprising at first: the first week I lose 3 kg. I had 82 and was 79 after only one week (78,9). Next week was not so impressive: 77,9 Now, I wait for the results of the 3'd week but I know that I turned back to 78,2 these days (I added a new program).

It was interesting, to count calories. And I did not suffer without my "normal" quantity of sweeties and high-caloric foods. I thought, it will be much more hard for me. Yes, I knew, I eat great quantities of everything and eat too often (I am near PC all the day...) but I could not renounce on it. Yes, I knew, it was mostly psychological dependence. But I could not control myself. It was impossible...

And, maybe for this reason, take this action was so easy. Now, I can not eat half a day and I do not feel necessity to eat.
