Dalai Lama -Templeton Prizes' Winner

The Dalai Lama was announced as the 2012 Templeton Laureate last month in recognition of his long-standing engagement with multiple dimensions of science and with people far beyond his own religious traditions, which has made him an incomparable global voice for universal ethics, nonviolence, and harmony among world religions.

Videos of His Holiness speaking on key issues including his call for humanity to embrace compassion as a path to peace, both personally and on a global scale, can also be viewed now at www.templetonprize.org

“You can develop genuine sense of concern of well-being of others, including your enemy,” he states in one video.  “That kind of compassion – unbiased, unlimited – needs training, awareness.”

The Templeton Prize, valued at £1.1 million (about $1.7 million or €1.3 million), is the world's largest annual monetary award given to an individual and honors a living person who has made exceptional contributions to affirming life’s spiritual dimension.

Many thanks in advance for your consideration.

All the best,

Don Lehr

Informational Marvels about Health Maintainance

It's unpossible to ignore it more: even the most far from all-media news know that the ideas about what is good and what is bad for our health change every day. All our lives, we knew that coffee is not very good for health. One day we wake up and listen that last research proved coffee is very good if we drink it one cup a day. A month or two later is published a notice about the results of an other research that tells us once more: coffee is very dangerous for health. And this pendulum continue in time for this and most other aliments. An other example: All the life, we know that cholesterol is bad and we have to eat only foods without fat -one day we wake up and hear that fat, animal fat, is good because we would not live without it since it's essential for metabolism.

Now, if we speak about fatless products, the search for truth becomes absolutely shocking: the fatless aliments are time bombs. We like, we are addicted to fats and sugar. If there are not fats or sugars in the aliments, they do not taste to us. This is the reason, the fatless aliments are so dangerous: industry adds all kinds of chemical chemicals to make fatless aliments tasty. And that is why the doctors say, it's better to buy alimnents with less quantity of fat than those fatless.

Most of us have to look for right ways to maintain our bodies healthy. In this blog I try to collect advises about these ways. And I look for the news from the research institutes, too.To find them I search different media etc. But in the last period I have the impression that thre is not a word of truth in all these notices. I agree that the science changes every day but I can't explain the contrary opinions that go out with this speed. The only rational explanation is the competition.

Tell it me if I'm not right.

Easy Ways to Give Elders Their Independence

More elders are hoping to live out their days in the comfort and familiarity of their home instead of being transferred to assisted living. Wanting this independence is an important part to maintaining it. Fortunately, there are many ways that families can keep their elders safe and healthy while living in their homes. Here are five ways to create a nurturing place for your loved one to thrive in.
1. Elder-Proof the Home.
Do a thorough walk through of the home and look for potential dangers. Consider ways to make the home safer and more comfortable such as by installing a tub seat and handlebar in the shower, installing sturdy railings on both sides of the stairwell and placing non-slip mats in the bathroom and kitchen.
2. Set up a Home Alert System
Since your elder will be spending a lot of time alone, consider setting up a home alert system. Not only do these systems protect against burglary and theft, but also they can alert the local authorities if there is a fire, flood or carbon monoxide detected in the home. They also provide peace of mind for everyone.
3. Purchase a Medical Alert System
To provide personalized medical health care to an elder, a medical alert system is the perfect option. The alert pendant can be worn on a bracelet, or a push button can be installed somewhere in the home. A simple press of the button will alert a response center that will assess the situation and provide help. Medical alert systems work commonly with elders who fall, suffer from chronic conditions or need a helping hand.
4. Leverage Technology
Your elder will most likely need help with this, but leverage the technological tools that are available. Order prescriptions online and have them sent to the home, set up a Skype account to chat with your loved one face-to-face and order groceries online. These tools will allow your loved one to be independent, and you can access the accounts when needed.
5. Consider In-Home Help
An in-home care agency can come to the home and help with light household tasks and provide companionship for your loved one. Many times this type of help is what enables elders to continue living in their homes, especially if family is not nearby. Don’t forget to reach out to local park districts and senior centers to keep your loved one active in age-appropriate activities.
Maintaining independence is one of the best ways for seniors to maintain a positive outlook on life, and should be held to high importance.  By integrating the latest technologies into a home, most elders can enjoy home living well into their later years.

«Цветение растения Льна ..» на Яндекс.Фотках

Oh yes, weight loss problem is one of my idee fixe. My excessive weight disturbs me because I'm too heavy for my legs and for activities I like to do. From other side, more heavy I become, less wish to move I have. This is the reason I try to fight it.

This time I found interesting article that speaks about the aliments we have to eat more to leave the wish to eat and eat and eat. And, maybe, contrary, turn to eat everything we want, as in our youth, without adding other hated kilos.

The aliments  to use are:
1 -eggs. Some researchers say, those who eats eggs for breackfast consume less calories with their meals  because eggs are nutrient, and you do not have a wish to eat.
2 -sauercraut. Has very important for intestine bacteria.
3 -backed potatoes. For their nutritional value.
4 -yoghurt. Fills the stomach and is good for health. There are yoghurts that are better than an ice-cream.
5 -artichoke.
6 -barley.
7 -kidney beans. Excellent to balance sugar in the blood.
8 -tomato paste (don't use ketchup)
9 -almonds.
and, finally, the best to fill the stomach are 1-2 teaspoons of milled linseeds with yoghurt or something other you like.

Let's begin to eat in the right way! :-)))

Aromatherapy: Relax, Smell Nice, Be Healed

Whether you experience aching muscles, itchy or irritated skin, general body pains, or you simply want to live a healthier, well-balanced lifestyle, aromatherapy’s got a little in store for everyone.  Aromatherapy is rapidly gaining popularity as an alternative source for healthy living.  With cheap, easy, and effective strategies that can be easily practiced and maintained in the comfort of one’s home, it’s no great mystery as to why this is.  But many everyday folks still don’t really understand what this relatively new practice actually entails.  Hopefully, this article should remedy that by giving readers a quick whiff of what aromatherapy is all about.
First of all, aromatherapy is essentially the use of natural oils extracted directly from various plant parts for the enhancement of physical and psychological health.  These natural oils include commonly known items like sage, lemon, tea tree, eucalyptus, peppermint, lavender, rosemary, and many more, each with a unique effect on the body and/or mind.  The ways in which the various oils are used are generally broken up into five distinct methods:
- Massage
Aromatherapy massage is the art of blending drops of these powerful oils with other massaging agents to enhance the olfactory and physical experience of the massage.  Use of aromatherapy massage oils can create a distinct sensory experience, as well as a physically gratifying experience.  The oils not only invigorate or relax the senses; they also seep into the skin and offer various health benefits depending on the oil.
- Bath
By simply adding a few drops of therapeutic oils to the water of your bath, you can easily and comfortably receive the benefits of those oils while relaxing in the rich water.
- Vapor Inhalation
Most of us have experienced the immediate benefits that a steamy shower lends a stuffy nose.  By inhaling certain vapors of these essential oils, similar and lasting sinus and respiratory health benefits can be obtained.
- Creams and Lotions
Just as the massage therapy works, by putting a few drops of essential aromatherapy oils in your daily lotions and creams, your skin absorbs and reaps the benefits associated with each one.
- Compression
An especially effective aromatherapy for stubborn muscle or menstrual cramps, the compression method simply entails placing a washcloth in a bowl of warm water that contains drops of the essential oils of your choice and placing them over the area of discomfort.
Knowing about these methods and the general science behind aromatherapy is all it takes to get started.  Now, just by doing a bit of research into the many popular essential oils used and their related benefits, one can be begin realizing the strength of these amazing therapies in the comfort of their own home.  I have personally noted great results in my own experiences with aromatherapy, and I have just only begun to scratch the surface.

Cat is Not a Defective Dog!!!!

I saw this picture a moment ago in my Facebook friends updates. I like it very much so that I thought it matches with the spirit of this blog. The difference is not a diseas. We have not to cure the difference. We have not to think every creation of the God that is different from us is defective.

I immediatelly thought about it because there are too many examples in everyday life when everybody of us does not recognize other persons as the same creation of the God. Very often, I am the object of this intolerance, too. Because I'm Russian -Happy Being it.

Saturday, the local hospital was full of wounded young men who could not accept the difference of other socer funs. They were all Italians but Italians from different regions...

And if we, "healthy" (are we really healthy????), do not accept the difference of other "healthy" persons, how can we accept the difference of autistic persons?
