The Iimportance of Thangka's Painting

Today, I will share with you the significance of Thangka painting
Thangka paintings of Buddhas and Bodhisttvas are the representatives of their real self. Since, we are ordinary people, it is very difficult to see them in real, and it’s only through thangka paintings that we are able to see them. Hence we must regard as real Buddhas or Boddhisttvas.
Preparing Thangka painting has lots of uses/benefits.
• It will save you from frequent illnesses in this life.
• You will never face problems regarding clothes and foods.
• It will help you to finish your work without any obstacles.
• You will be able to help others in a big measure.
• It will help you to attain happiness and peace in next life.
• You will receive the teachings of Buddha.
• You will meet your root lama and will be able to practice dharma.
• It will help you to remove your five poisons and in accomplishing Buddhahood.
• It will save the country from famine and droughts.
• It will bring peace and prosperity in the country.
• It short, we can say that it will help us to bring peace and kindness in this world.
But yes, the most important par t is that you must have faith and devotion in order to experience all the above benefits. Benefits are totally dependent on your sincerity and faith. Hence simply preparing Thangka, does not give you a privilege to enjoy the above benefits.
Important points to remember regarding thangka painting.



• Lord Buddha had said that Thangka without a rabney is simply like a stone or wood. That’s why it’s important to do rabney (Sanctify) once you complete the Thangka painting.
• Since it is like a real Buddha, we must keep it in altar and must do offering prayers.
• You must never keep it randomly with other things. Instead always consider them as real Buddha and worship them sincerely.
• You can prepare it with different paints like gold,silver,soil colour, ink etc. But the best one is gold/silver points, medium one is point and the last one is using ink to point it.
• It is also prepared as symbol on the basis of dead person’s merit accumulation.
• It is also regarded as an object of accumulation as it reminds us of accumulating merits and prevents us from indulging in negative actions.
